Dublin Core

Title Portrait of Jacob Riis
Description Jacob Riis grew up in Denmark and moved to New York when he was 21. He lived in poverty at first, then became a journalist and began publishing reports of what he saw in the city's most wretched neighborhoods. His storytelling gifts, coupled with his pioneering use of photography, made him the most famous muckraker of his time.
