Title Advertisement for Sardi's air-conditioning
Description Summer in the city began to change for the better in 1925, when the Rivoli on Broadway became the first air-conditioned movie theater in the country. Over the next few decades, Sardi's and other restaurants also invested in air-conditioning, hoping that customers who arrived hot and miserable would perk up and regain their appetites.
