Waiter's manual for the Forum of the Twelve Caesars

Dublin Core

Title Waiter's manual for the Forum of the Twelve Caesars
Description The Forum of the Twelve Caesars, which opened in 1957 at 57 West 48th Street, was one of Joe Baum's most spectacular creations. The concept was ancient Rome, though his interpretation was more Hollywood than history. The enormous menu featured partridge with juniper berries, wild boar, a Caesar salad (of course), and many dishes set aflame and rushed through the restaurant with dramatic flair. The waiters, who wore outfits that vaguely resembled togas, were given an instruction manual written to evoke Latin.
