Manuscript Excerpt: Cartridge Music

This piece utilizes the pick-up element, i.e., cartridge, of phonograph players. Performers insert objects into the opening of a cartridge to amplify its sound. They also use small contact microphones, often attached to furniture. The published score consists of transparencies that the performers lay upon one another to derive the individual parts.
