Find the Future

Observations of the natural world raise the questions: What do we see? What do we actually know?

Look closely at the image below and you’ll see that the Library objects depicted here spell the word FIND.

Find the Future, the title of NYPL’s Centennial Celebration — which is taking place throughout the year in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building on May 23, 2011 — is a tribute to the Library as a place of self-reinvention and possibility.

Find the Future invites people to use the millions of objects in the Library’s collections to discover new ways of thinking about the world and ourselves — a new passion, a new novel, a new career, a new business, a new cure — just as NYPL’s hundreds of millions of users have done for a century.
